Boiron recommends taking the sublingual pellets in a clean mouth (taken apart from meals).

Boiron oral medicines should be dissolved in the mouth as they will be absorbed through the mucous membrane on the inside of the mouth. The mucous membrane is thinnest under the tongue, so absorption will be quickest when dissolved under the tongue. When chewed or swallowed, the pellets pass through the digestive system and thus take longer to act.
