Your workload is increasing, your kids are back in school, and the days are getting shorter—no wonder many of us feel like fall is taking its toll on our energy! Here are some tips for staying on your feet. A good night’s sleep can do wonders!
- Take cues from physical signs of sleepiness (yawns, difficulty focusing eyes, etc.) which indicate that it’s time to go to bed.
- Even during cold nights, opt for an extra blanket over setting the thermostat higher, as the latter may disrupt your sleep, cause you to have a dry throat and skin, and make waking up more difficult.
Does your child have sleeping disorders?
Going back to school, feeling overexcited, and adjusting to the rigors of daily learning are some of the factors that can cause sleeping disruptions in children. The most common disorders include patterns of refusing to get into bed, not settling into sleep, waking up at night, and/or simply not getting enough sleep. When sleeping disorders occur regularly, they can provoke irritability during the day and can negatively affect the child’s development.
