A perennial plant of the daisy family growing wild on acidic soils at an altitude of more than 800 metres in the mountainous regions of Europe, Arnica montana holds therapeutic virtues known for centuries (they were already described in medical treatises dating back to ancient Greece) which bring relief to muscle and joint pain, bruises and bumps.

Every year, at the beginning of its flowering, in June-July, Arnica montana is responsibly picked entirely by hand by specialized botanists and qualified harvesters. Care must be taken when picking Arnica montana, because it is essential to always leave a part of the plant in place so that it can renew itself for years to come. Therefore, only 30% of a picking site’s potential is to be harvested to ensure the sustainability of the species.
